Vanagon get-together REMINDER: NEXT WEEKEND! |

We are off to a slow start. At 7:00 am Ed and I
are waiting for Phaedra in Philo, Ca.
Soon she shows up and we all head for the Bay Area, a several
hours drive away.
At one point on Highway 101, where there were three lanes, we
drove side by side!
I wish there had been someway to get an image of that! It's fun
to caravan in Vanagons!!

We arrive at the park at 11:00 am after a stop
for gas and breakfast.
We are the only ones there! Oh darn!
We wonder how many parking places we should try to save; six?
eight?
Soon some more vanagons arrive.

And then, even more!! Whoa!!

What a beautiful day and setting for a gathering.

Soon we are checking out each others set-ups.

Custom bumpers, special wheels, high lift spring, aircraft landing lights!

And here we have the ShadyBoy awning.

The ShadyBoy deployment is demonstrated. Not
wanting to pound tie-down stakes
into the asphalt the awning was not pulled down into its normal
horizontal attitude .

Did I forget to mention lunch? Wine and brie
and baggetts and fresh homegrown apples from Phaedra's tree.
